When Hotel Riviera opened in 2023 on the promenade in Moss, just 50 minutes from Oslo, the hotel presented an entirely new resort concept with 172 rooms, spa & wellness on the roof, as well as a lounge and conference area with vibes reminiscent of the French Riviera. We at SIFAB were responsible for the delivery of all fixed and loose furniture in the project – a task where the ambition was clear: to create a "Riviera feeling" in a Nordic environment.

Background

The hotel is located in the emerging district of Verket in Moss, by the Oslofjord — location, form, and experience were the focus. The owners embraced the vision of "bringing Saint-Tropez to Moss" — every detail was to be meticulously crafted and the environment should exude holiday, exclusivity, and vibrancy. The challenge lay in translating this clear design idea and atmosphere into a complete hotel interior where both aesthetic expressions and technical requirements (functionality, sustainability, fire safety, operations) had to be met.

Process

The project was carried out in close dialogue with the design and architecture teams to ensure that the overall feel was right from the beginning. With SIFAB as the overall supplier, we were responsible for both fixed furnishings (e.g., reception counters, headboards) and loose furnishings (furniture, lighting, textiles), which gave us control over the entire project. Our craftsmen and installers worked with precision to deliver furniture and interior details that matched the vibrant, colorful, and nautical-inspired design – all while considering operation, sustainability, and comfort. Logistics, planning, and coordination were crucial for the project to run efficiently and with high quality.
