When Sea U opened in 2021 at the waterfront in central Helsingborg, the hotel became a new meeting place – where Scandinavian elegance meets maritime views and vibrant city life. We at Sifab were responsible for the delivery and installation of all fixed and loose furnishings for the entire hotel – a comprehensive task in a hotel with 250 guest rooms, conference areas for up to 1,250 people, and public environments where design and function must work hand in hand.

Background

The hotel is located right by the water with a view of the Öresund and with a position that makes it a hub for both leisure, weekends, and conferences. The design and architectural premises were clear: the interior should reflect the coastal location, the city's history, and meet high demands for operation, sustainability, and quality. Sifab's part in the project included the entire interior delivery – from reception desks to furniture and custom carpentry in guest rooms.

Process

In close collaboration with the architecture and design team, the project began with detailed planning where material choices, surface finishes, and custom solutions were defined based on the hotel's profile. Throughout the process, we worked with materials in the form of textiles and stone that reflect the character of the seaside location. A comprehensive delivery of both fixed and loose furnishings ensured that all elements were harmonised visually and functionally.
